Zach Higgs, Jr.

Born in Bauxite, Arkansas

Graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.S. degree in metallurgical engineering in 1964 and from the Law School of the University of Alabama in 1967 with a Juris Doctor degree.

Licensed Bar admission to practice law in the State of Alabama in 1967 in state courts, Federal District Court in the State of Alabama and the 11th Circuit United States Court of Appeals.

Work Experience

Captain in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, serving in the Judge Advocate General Corps, handling court martials, administrative discharges, etc.  Practiced law in Huntsville, Alabama from August 1971 to the present.

Involved with many trials, jury and non-jury, involving significant sums of recovery; in some cases, the recovery exceeded $1,000,000.


Recognized by the AFL-CIO for outstanding concern and dedication to the working men and women of the State of Alabama.

Chairman of the Professional Division of the United Way of Madison County, Alabama, as well as the Legal Division of the United Way.

Recipient of the Professionalism Award for conduct, honesty, integrity and courtesy that exemplifies the highest standard of the legal profession.

Member of the Executive Committee of the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association, now known as the Alabama Association for Justice.

Member of many unique legal committees for the American Bar Association, as well as the Alabama Association for Justice.

Member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
